How to become a Suzuki Teacher

Step One:  Enroll in the Every Child Can (ECC) course

• SAU offers this course twice a year in the Spring and the Fall.  E-mail president Janet Buhler for details.
• The Utah institutes offer this course in the summer. Check the Institutes links (located under the Institutes tab) to find current information on their institute dates.
• The SAA has a list of all ECC courses offered in the United States: http://www.suzukiassociation.org/teachers/training/ecccourses/

Note: You must be within 6 months of graduating from High School to enroll in ECC.

Step Two: Submit and audition to the SAA to be approved to continue with teacher training.

• The requirements for the audition is on the SAA website. http://www.suzukiassociation.org/teachers/training/auditionguide/
• You may send in your tape before or after taking the ECC class

Step Three:  Take Teacher Training courses from an SAA Certified Teacher Trainer.

• We have several teacher trainers here in Utah.  Contact them to see when they are offering their courses

Step Four: After you have completed your course and your audition was accepted register your course with the SAA.

• Your course instructor will have the paperwork to register your courses with the SAA.
• Note: you must take courses and register them with the SAA in order through book 2.
