As a child I began my violin studies with Doralee Madsen, and participated in Federation, Suzuki camps, and Suzuki graduations regularly. In High School I studied with now retired Utah Symphony member and teaching legend, Jack Ashton. My senior year I was a soloist in Skyline High School's Concerto Night. I was nominated to participate in the Utah Symphony's student Side-By-Side concert in 2007, where I was chosen to play the concertmaster solos. Along with the violin, I studied the piano very seriously from fifth grade until I graduated from high school, winning various UMTA performing and composition competitions. I won and held a position as jazz pianist in my school's jazz band from ninth grade through my graduation from high school, participating in festivals and competitions locally and in the Monterey Bay Jazz festival in California.
I began teaching violin in 2008, one year after I began college. Since then I have graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in music having studied the pedagogy methods of Paul Rolland and Ivan Galamian among others. My private violin studies were with current Utah Symphony Concertmaster, Ralph Matson. I now serve as the violin vice-president in the Suzuki Association of Utah.
