Deborah Smith has a BA in Music Theater/Voice from BYU and has directed children in the performing arts for over 20 years. She is currently the Voice Vice-President for the Suzuki Association of Utah developing and teaching repertoire for the young singer beginning age 3. She has presented lectures, workshops and teacher trainings throughout the United States. She belongs to numerous professional organizations including: NATS (National Association for Teachers of Singing); NFMC, (National Federation of Music Clubs); Orff; Kodaly, Kindermusik and the National Voice Care Network. She was head of the Music Department for Liberty Academy, a public charter school for children grades 1-6 from 2009-2011. She has taught music at Discovery Academy Montessori School-preschool through 6th grade for 9 years. She has been a private vocal coach for over 25 years and is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City.
