About Teacher

Tammy\'s passion for music started at an early age through piano and violin lessons. She has studied violin with Jack Ashton and Ralph Matson of the Utah Symphony, and with the late Lenny Felberg, former concertmaster of the Santa Fe Symphony. Tammy completed a Bachelor’s of Music Degree from the University of Utah summa cum laude, with an emphasis in Violin Performance and Instrumental Music Education, where she was the recipient of the Presser Award. After graduation, she was the orchestra and choir director at Legacy Preparatory Academy in Woods Cross, Utah.

Tammy lived in New Mexico from 2011-2018 where she established a large violin studio, played in the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra, and took graduate classes at the University of New Mexico where she studied Violin Pedagogy with Susan Kempter. Tammy currently lives in Mapleton, Utah, where she is a member of the Utah Valley Symphony and has a Suzuki Violin Studio.Tammy is a fully registered Suzuki Violin Teacher in all 10 books. She did her training with Susan Kempter, Charles Krigbaum and Daina Staggs. Tammy and her husband have 4 boys, who have also embarked in a lifelong passion for music.
