How to Join SAU

Thinking of joining SAU?

If you haven't already, visit the Member Benefits page under About Us to see more of the perks for teachers and families.

Are you a current SAU teacher?

Wait until September! Then you can save on your SAU dues!

When you're ready to renew your membership, login to your account. You can click on your name and picture in the upper right hand corner to see your current membership in the red box. Click on that to be redirected to the Membership page. You can also go directly there by clicking Membership in the menu on the left of the screen under a larger version of your name and picture.

Under Active Teacher Membership Plan, click the box that says Pay. A popup will appear to collect your payment information. Please be patient as it processes.

Teachers are expected to register all their Suzuki students in SAU. This is listed in the Bylaws section 2.2.1.1.4.

You can add and edit the families in your studio by selecting My Studio in the menu on the left. Please make sure all the families there are correct. That includes which students you teach, which instrument(s) they're studying and their personal information.

To the right of the family's information, you will be able to see if another teacher has already paid for their membership, if they have a Free Membership or if you can add their membership to your cart. Once you click Add to Cart, you can pay for their memberships individually or in one payment. If you want help adding or updating information for families in your studio, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page or the Website Tutorial Videos under Resources.

Would you be a new SAU teacher?

You can join at any point during the year (including during the Membership Drive every September).

Click on Join SAU when you're ready to pay your membership dues and open an account. Don't forget to log in and update your account and any information you'd like to include for your teacher profile page.

Then you can add and edit the families in your studio by selecting My Studio in the menu on the left. Click the box on the upper right that says Add Family to search our database by last name or email address for any family's in your studio. It will prompt you to add in the family as new if they are not already in the SAU Portal. Please make sure all the families there are correct. That includes which students you teach, which instrument(s) they're studying and their personal information.

Once you'd added a family to your Studio, you will be able to see if another teacher has already paid for their membership to the right of the family's information. It will show if they have a Free Membership, the name of another teacher if they were already paid or if you can add their membership to your cart. Once you click Add to Cart, you can pay for their memberships individually or in one payment. If you want help adding or updating information for families in your studio, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page or the Website Tutorial Videos under Resources.

More Information about Family Memberships

  • Teachers are expected to register all of their Suzuki students in SAU. This is listed in the Bylaws section 2.2.1.1.4.
  • Each family membership costs $35.
  • Every family only needs to pay one time a year, regardless of how many children are taking lessons or how many instruments each child is studying.
  • All payments are done through the Teacher Accounts, so teachers should collect and submit payments for their families through the website.
  • The immediate children of an SAU teacher do not need a separate Family Membership. Please reach out to the Membership Secretary at membership@suzukimusicutah.org if you are an SAU Teacher and need to have your children added to your account.
  • It is important to have addresses and emails for families correctly saved so they can receive newsletters and notices about upcoming events.

If you have any additional questions, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page under the Resources tab on the SAU website. There are also several Website Tutorial Videos that you can also find under the Resources tab to help as your create and update your account.
