Cleo Ann Brimhall holds a Master of Music degree from the Univ. of Nebraska and studied extensively with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and Dr. Haruko Kataoka in Japan and in the Americas beginning in 1976. Cleo is a founding member of the Suzuki Association of Utah in 1977 and served as a board member until 2012. As a teacher trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas since 1981, she has traveled internationally as a clinician and lecturer. Cleo served for six years on the Board of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She also served as Director of the Utah Suzuki Piano Workshops with Dr. Kataoka for more than 15 years and Director of the Intermountain Suzuki Institute for 12 years. Cleo was a founding member of the Piano Basics Foundation Board and served as editor for the Piano Basics Foundation Newsletter for seven years. Her students have participated in Suzuki conferences worldwide, performed in 10 Piano concerts in Japan and Sacramento and received awards and scholarships from various music organizations and schools. Several students have returned to her to be trained as Suzuki Piano Teachers after completing Bachelor and Master Degrees in piano performance. Cleo currently teaches an SAA and Piano Basics Teacher Training Class in her studio. She also maintains a small studio of piano students.
