Emily Olsen Rust

About Teacher

Emily grew up in Utah studying violin with Jeanne Grover and Karen Child. Emily went on to study with Dallin Hansen, Edward Ashton, Emma Rubinstein and Gerald Elias. Emily is a graduate of BYU-Idaho (BMA Violin Performance, 2012) where she served as concertmaster of the schools orchestras. Emily has more than fifteen years teaching experience (10 years in Bountiful Utah). Emily is a Suzuki certified teacher in violin Books 1-10 and has taken several teaching enrichment courses through the SAA. Emily studied violin pedagogy with Suzuki teacher trainers: Cathy Lee, Allen Lieb, Charles Krigbaum and Linda Fiore. Emily performs professionally with Sinfonia Salt Lake, the Canyon String Quartet and the Orchestra at Temple Square. Emily has two sons and a daughter that keep her busy when she isn’t teaching or performing.
