About Teacher

My music career began at the age of 5 with the piano and I added the violin at age 9 with the elementary school program. I participated with the school orchestras through middle school and high school. I have also performed with the Jordan Youth Symphony Orchestra, Jordan Symphony Orchestra, Mormon Youth Orchestra, University of Utah Symphony, University of Utah Philharmonic, and am currently participating with the Salt Lake Symphony. I received my Bachelor\'s Degree in Music Education from the University of Utah in 2001. I began teaching middle school band at Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton for 2 years. I have been teaching piano and violin lessons in my home since 1999. I began my Suzuki training in 2006 and have loved the changes I have been able to make in my teaching and in my own playing. I am always looking for new ways to improve my teaching and ways to better teach each individual student, through the help of the Suzuki method. Since my first class, I have continued to attend the Institute for more instruction throughout the Suzuki repertoire for violin and have taken private instruction of the Suzuki repertoire for the piano.
