Marilyn is a professional harpist and teacher who loves to have music be an integral part of her life. Marilyn began study of the harp at the age of seven. She studied with Louise Pratt, Lysa Rytting and Louise Vickerman. In college, she studied with ShruDeLi Ownbey and graduated with a Bachelor\'s of Music in Harp Performance from Brigham Young University. Post-college she has studied with Dr. Nicole Brady. Marilyn has many years of experience as an orchestral and chamber harpist, accompanist and solo performer. She was even able to be a harpist in the closing ceremonies of the Winter 2002 Olympics. Marilyn worked as an assistant curator in the International Harp Archives. As part of her work in the archives, Marilyn helped create an exhibit, Master Harpists of the 20th Century which was displayed in the BYU Library. She also created a video about the archives which was shown at the Minneapolis-St. Paul AHS Conference. Marilyn is an experienced teacher who has taught for over twenty years. Her early instruction was from a traditional background but she is now a fully certified Suzuki teacher. She loves to teach and see the progress her students make and the joy that music brings to each of them.
