About Teacher

Rachelle Harper began Suzuki Violin at 2 years old. She studied with Sanford and Joan Reuning, professional violinists and leaders of Suzuki Pedagogy in the greater New York area. She completed Suzuki Book 6 at 14 years old. Rachelle has continued her study of the violin through the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute, currently teaching Suzuki Levels 1-8.

Rachelle has taught private lessons for 12 years. She loves music and being a part of every student\\\\\\\'s musical journey. She sees beauty in every phase--from the eager beginner to advanced students--and every phase in between. She gently helps students and parents that are new to the Suzuki method, so that they will be successful with their practice at home. In addition to teaching, Rachelle is an encouraging and kind mentor for each individual who is lucky enough to become her student. She is the embodiment of Shinichi Suzuki\\\'s belief that \\\"when love is deep, much can be accomplished\\\".

When not teaching violin, Rachelle is busy with her family. She enjoys taking care of her goats, chickens, and dogs. She loves gardening, making crafts, and quilting. She is married and has seven sons ranging from age 6 to 25. She has played her violin with her sons at church and community events. All seven sons play an instrument: 2 violinists who have studied with Karen Child, 2 cellists (Marisa DeGarlais and Steven Farr), and 3 pianists (Janet Buhler and Tammy Baker). If a parent needs suggestions for making practice time successful, she\\\\\\\'s definitely been there as a teacher and a parent!

Rachelle is accepting new students. She offers a free trial lesson to ensure the best fit. Contact Rachelle with any questions and to set up a trial lesson.
